Are you one of those people who aren’t able to remember small details, such as details in films and books, and the names of people you met.

Do you often find yourself asking to follow up questions? Well, although this is upsetting do not worry you can improve that.

In 1870, a German psychologist by the name Hermann Ebbinghaus became interested in human memory. This man decided to conduct experiments to study the human memory.

As a matter of fact, he developed experimental methods which were scientifically reliable for the quantitative memory measurement. He made lists of nonsense words. He used these lists in order to assess the learning of free meaning.

Ebbinghaus was aware that learning new info is affected by our previous knowledge. Therefore he experimented with words with little to no meaning.

Ebbinghaus made the “Forgetting Curve” which is more commonly known as the rate at which people start to forget the new info.

He came to the discovery that he has forgotten a notable amount of info in 20 minutes and within 60 minutes up to half of that nonsense material.
